Applications Developer – WC Admin

Currently we are seeking an experienced Applications Developer – WC Admin for our Des Moines, IA location. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package. Overall Responsibilities:

This position will be providing development support of the new WC Admin system for the Berkley
Net company. This will include second line application support, application integration
development, customized functionality development, rules engine development and assistance with the further deployment of this product at WRBC.

Key Accountabilities:

This position will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service to the companies and
in helping users understand how to use the software most effectively. The support will come in the form of training, bug fixes, developing improved application integrations, educating front line support, developing front end systems, developing rules engines, and gathering feedback for product improvements. The travel for this position is approximately 5 – 10%.
REQUIREMENTS
Required Experience:

· 5 to 7 years application development experience (Java development)
· Working in a large scale IT support role – 2 years
· Relational Database experience
· Front end and rules based development
· Excellent problem solving skills
· Demonstrated self initiation in a project role

Preferred Experience:

· XML experience
· Insurance experience
· WebSphere Application Developer experience
· WebSphere Administration experience

Education/Skills:

· A self motivated individual with a passion for success
· Needs to be able to determine how changes impact customer and other systems.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills
· Ability to work in a fast paced team environment
· Ability to quickly adapt and learn new technologies
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or equivalent
work experience.
