Applications Developer

SRA is consistently recognized as an IT leader by clients, industry associations, and business and technology publications.Daily Responsibilities: The Applications Developer will be responsible for extending, enhancing and integrating commercial and custom-developed applications into the client system. The member will be part of a 20-person team building a system for analysts to use in their day to day activities. Member will work on a mid-sized team responsible for the applications launched by the system. The focus of the member’s work will be on developing inter-tool communication application programming interfaces (APIs), data transformation utilities and graphical visualization tools. The project entails full lifecycle development from requirements gathering to acceptance test of software. The position is based in Herndon. Required: Years of experience (min) 3 Required: Degree None Required: Software Junior to mid level software developer. A background in programming is a must. Experience in 3 of the following languages is a must: IDL, Fortran, C, C++, Java, Assembly. Working knowledge of Configuration Management Tools (i.e. CVS, PVCS, Source Safe) required. Knowledge of both Unix and Windows NT is required. Candidate must be comfortable using a Unix command line and have experience writing shell scripts. Candidate must also be comfortable using a Windows command line and have experience writing batch scripts.
