Application Engineering - Team Lead

Leads technical and operational activities associated with the application engineering function, including analysis of all business applications, technical processes, enterprise design and architecture, and technical requirements. Assists with problem solving and technical troubleshooting and provides technical solutions for Application Engineering customers.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Leads the application engineering group to ensure performance and tuning analysis of applications, ensure team maintains optimal performance levels, identifies and resolves bottlenecks and resolves problems involving applications, systems, and interfaces
Creates, develops and reviews all administrative functions, ensuring that all applications comply with standards, guidelines and procedures recommended for all aspects of application engineering and support
Provides appropriates tools, procedures and facilities for maintaining and optimizing all the enterprise’s applications
Ensures effective application documentation
Assists with development of production support plans regarding Application Engineering’s role in providing production support.
Reviews overall application and database infrastructure for stability, performance, redundancy, quality, recoverability, maintenance and space requirements
Assists in mentoring other team members
Exhibits excellent communication skills with all team members
Identifies and sponsors new initiatives, as appropriate or applicable
Works independently and as a technical team member
Manages/leads and trains other technical team members
Manages the day-to-day operation of the department
Participates in strategic planning, including budgeting, forecasting and revenue for the department
Participates in resource management, including performance reviews, continued education, interviewing, hiring, terminating, goal setting and objectives, incentives and team retention
