Application Developer I

Job Duties:
•Provide interface, batch and on-line system support for back office systems.
•Manage daily backups and ensure business recovery measures are effective.
•Participate and develop applications, as needed, that support, and further enhance the back office systems to better serve customers.
•Ensure data integrity in production, test, and training environments.
•Manage/monitor system performance to identify and recommend improvements in code, as well as databases.
•Support systems upgrade efforts, ensuring procedures are documented and carried out throughout the upgrade process. Participate and support user acceptance testing procedures for major releases to ensure a timely, quality upgrade.
•Assist in prioritizing and managing system enhancements and fixes.
REQUIREMENTS

•Ability to work during non-normal work hours (shared 24/7 on-call responsibilities).

•Self starter/problem solver/results oriented.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
•3+ years work experience with proven track record.
•Experience in designing, developing, deploying and supporting enterprise applications written in Visual Basic/.NET development platforms with a database backend of MS SQL or Progress 4GL.
•Billing and order management system experience preferred.
•Basic Understanding of UML – Data-Modeling, Design, Document and Flowchart.
•Knowledge of SOA, SOAP a plus.
•Experience in application system lifecycle development client server environment.
•Ability to analyze processes and apply system knowledge to resolve business issues.
•Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
•Project management skills.
•Proven organizational skills.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Access, etc).
