Analyst 3- DBA & DEV - MS SQL SERVER

Job Summary: Summary of Responsibilities, Essential Duties & Expectations:
The Microsoft SQL Server DBA is responsible for installation and maintenance of the SQL Server software, database and performance monitoring and tuning, automation of database backup and recovery, maintenance, building new databases, ability to copy data between databases, and documentation.
The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems and/or equivalent experience and have at least 2 years proven SQL Server administration including:
Proven experience with database performance monitoring and tuning, database maintenance and implementation
Proven experience in database design and modeling
Proven understanding of the Microsoft SQL Server architecture and tools
Ability to troubleshoot and analyze problems
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with all levels within the organization
Experience with Windows 2000/2003
Experience in implementing and supporting databases in a clustered environment.
Knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of business intelligence offerings including Analysis Services, Reporting Services, Data Transformation Services (DTS)
Essential Functions:
1. Plan and implement Microsoft SQL Server software installations, upgrades, and patches in a clustered environment, including implementing backup and recovery, according to corporate standards.
2. Monitor and tune SQL Server databases for optimum performance. Assist in capacity planning of database servers.
3. Provide technical assistance and guidance to application support staff and project teams.
4. Develop, document, and implement business intelligence solutions utilizing the Microsoft suite and other software, depending on the requirements.
5. Available for 24x7 on-call support.Special Posting Notes: Essential Functions:

Experience working in environment where ETL tools are used
Experience building, maintaining and tuning data cubes with Microsoft Analysis services a plus
Very helpful to have had experience with OutlookSoft.
MCDBA a plus
Oracle, Sybase database experience a plus
