Today, over 100 healthcare organizations are tapping into the expertise, equipment and round-the-clock computing services of the TSC's state-of-the-art hosting facility based in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey. The TSC can host Eclipsys solutions, as well as applications from its strategic partners and other non-Eclipsys applications that complement Eclipsys solutions. The center can provide and maintain all aspects of an HCO's hosted IT infrastructure, including operating systems, database software, systems and database administration, continuous capacity planning and monitoring, and Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure.We are currently hiring an AS/400 Systems Administrator for the TSC. Ideal candidates should have experience monitoring and troubleshooting network and computer systems in a data center environment. You will be approachable, teachable, and a team player with a strong desire to continue learning and expanding your experience in a high impact, client focused environment.In this position, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining iSeries application environments, OS/400 program products and utilities, and operational support for customer and corporate company entities. You will provide support for multiple iSeries based application environments including production, training, and test.Essential Responsibilities:
Manages and maintains the operating system on multiple AS/400 (iSeries) and network servers.
Assist in the maintenance and upgrades of all servers, operating systems and application software.
Responsible for daily up time and availability of AS/400 Servers.
Maintain knowledge of computer operating procedures and operating standards.
Properly maintains all logs, runs backups and recovery procedures.
Maintains tape library, logging tapes for storage and assures that all backups go off-site on rotating basis.
Assist in the planning and the coordination of systems and application software installations and maintenance.
Troubleshoot areas, place service calls and keep management informed of critical situations.
Work to provide continual support for users.
Maintain the confidentiality of IT systems, their applications and employees.
Complete production and special assignments as required.
Will be part of a regular on-call schedule and may be required to respond during non-scheduled hours. Provide technical consultation and support.
Design, architect and determine risk for application implementations as it relates to infrastructure.
Provide needed support on any and/or all departmental projects.
Provide 2nd Level Support on technical issues.
Follow all defined standards, policies and procedures including those for ISO9002 and SAS 70.
Review and implement Standard Operating Procedures.
Create technical specification documentation.
Candidate will also assist in writing, modifying, and maintaining projects and programs.
Generally works under deadlines.Schedule:
The work schedule is a 5 day work week from 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM with additional hours based on workload and stability of the network environment. You will be part of the on-call rotation and will be required to be on call from Monday through Sunday (7 days) every three weeks. Also, there is a monthly maintenance window every third Sunday of the month between 2:0 0AM and 6:00 AM which requires on-site presence.Job Requirements
Required Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of experience installing, upgrading, and supporting iSeries (IBM AS/400) hardware, i5/OS systems software, IBM BRMS (backup and recovery management system), Advanced Job Scheduler, and third party utility software.
Experience with a monitoring system-preferably PowerLock.
Must possess a working knowledge of the following software applications: Outlook, Project, Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Strong customer service skills and vendor relationship management experience.
Must have a stable work background and be willing to travel. Travel is limited to 4-5 days every six months to customer sites.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Some Windows operating system experience?preferably Windows 2003 Server.
Any experience supporting enterprise applications.
Project management skills a plus.
Some programming skills (scripting and RPG) would be beneficial.
Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred. / gj-hh
