Workers’ Compensation / Integrated Disability Specialist

McMaster-Carr is looking for a Workers’ Compensation Specialist to join our Corporate Human Resources team. The Workers’ Compensation Specialist will play a key role providing leave administration and coordination for employees on a leave of absence (i.e. workers’ compensation, short-term disability and long-term disability) between the employee, supervisor, and third party administrator. The position will make leave determination decisions for Short-Term Disability (STD) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) according to the McMaster-Carr benefit plan and federal guidelines.

The candidate should have at least 3 years of related experience. This includes experience in workers’ compensation reserving practices, communication and coordination with outside defense counsel, return to work coordination, and job accommodations for employees. Other requirements include strong problem solving and customer service skills, as well as the ability to multi-task, communicate clearly, and effectively address the important needs of our employees.
