Workers Compensation Coordinator

Under direction of the Program Coordinator - Worker's Compensation, this position assists facility contacts with workers compensation reports, preparing information for routine and special updates, assists with requests from claim adjusters and legal support in the preparation and administration of workers' compensation claims.Analyze workers compensation costs and trends. Collect data, analyze trends and create reports to educate and inform management of workers compensation costs. Conduct or assist with presentation preparation for facility management updates. Analyze workers compensation costs to highlight the most prevalent and costly accidents in Kohler Company's U.S. operations. (30%)Responsible for managing third party administrator (TPA) process: Report potentially serious claims to insurers; maintain claim experience data including paid and reserved amounts. Monitor and audit processes performed by TPA to assure state compliance, accuracy, efficiency, and cost containment. Facilitate communication between each Kohler U.S. facility and the TPA. (30%)Workers' Compensation Cases Management: Provide case details and information to outside adjusters and work with legal counsel as assigned. Coordinate negotiation for delegated workers' compensation cases pending litigation; review and report on performance metrics for third party administrator. Preparation and submission of claims forms as required by government agencies to ensure compliance with the various State workers' compensation acts. Consult with Occupation Physicians, Medical Director, attorneys and claims administrators regarding information associated with cases. Develops and manages relationships with outside support agencies which provide services to claimants and the organization; monitors services and directs changes, as needed. Create ACTs for negotiated settlements and work with claim adjusters to prepare detailed claim reviews. (20%)Benchmarking and Injury Reduction: Conduct surveys and review publications concerning recent developments for compliance. Track performance goals for each US facility in the company and assist the facilities in reaching those goals by taking data and understanding where the key issues and work with EHS project coordinators and plant safety specialists to develop plans to mitigate risks and exposure. Provide reports to the safety specialists on initiatives designed to reduce workers compensation expenses. Use workers compensation cost data to suggest potential injury reduction projects. (20%)A Bachelor's degree is preferred and will be given preference. The preferred candidate will also have more than 3 years of related experience. A minimum of 2 years experience in the workers compensation field is required.
