Dynamic Organization, with Opportunity for Professional Growth.Responsibilities of Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster:Interpret coverage and make recommendations to supervisor on the resolution of coverage questions. Contact employee by telephone, correspondence or in person, and explain workers compensation benefits Ascertain and verify employment, and determine if injury arose out of (and during course of) employment. Secure evidence and information by office conference, telephone, correspondence, and by making necessary field investigations. Complete workers' compensation status and reserve evaluation on all assigned cases. Determine nature, extent, and duration of disability; review with doctors; authorize medical care and examinations; and maintain medical control of all claims. Negotiate settlements within extent of authority, and issue claims drafts or checks in payment of claims.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:* Four-year college degree Minimum 1 year workers' compensation examier experience
* Excellent customer service and communication skills and sound judgment and decision making skills
* Valid driver's license, bondable, computer proficiency
* Familiarity with medical terminology helpful
