We are currently seeking an addition to our human resources department in corporate headquarters in Union City. The primary responsibility is to assist the Director of Human Resources and the department/team with the core functions relating to the administration of worker compensation files and performing new employee orientations.
Responsibilities Include:
-Administer self-insured worker’s compensation program. Functions include, but are not limited to the following: file work comp claims, assist in developing strategies to reduce work-related injuries and associated costs, analyze program effectiveness, prepare required reports to maintain State compliance, and provide consultation to managers on options to return employees to work.-Communicate with insurance carriers, medical offices and employees.
-Enter data in claims management information system.
-Coordinate monthly safety meetings for managers and supervisors.-Investigate claims through direct contact with employees, supervisors and other witness as appropriate. In addition, collect information regarding incidents and explain process to claimant.-Perform record keeping responsibilities to ensure compliance with CAL/OSHA by designated deadlines.-Manage the new hire on-boarding process. To include: completing orientations, as well as securing relevant equipment and voicemail for new hires.-Develop strong business relationships with all levels in the organization to keep hiring managers informed of new hire status and start dates.
-Manage the employee referral program.
-Assist in the administration, interpretation and development of policies and procedures
-Trouble shoot benefits issues relating to union and non-union employees of Southern Wine & Spirits.
-Perform additional special projects and responsibilities as needed/required by the team and the Director.
REQUIREMENTS
Skills and Qualification:•Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in corporate human resources department.
•Strong customer service skills.•Detail oriented, well organized and self-directed.
•Excellent communication skills.
•Ability to plan, organize and complete work within established time frames.
•Ability to work as part of a team and independently with little supervision.
•Bilingual Spanish speaking, writing and translating abilities preferred.
•Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
•Working knowledge of database management systems.
•Experience using the SAP system is preferred, though not required.
Education:Undergraduate degree desired with emphasis on Human Resources, or equivalent combination of educationand Human Resources experience.
