Company Information:Beckett Associates is a leading distributor in the Sports/Gaming trading card category. This privately owned company began as a boyhood hobby for its owner and has grown into a mid-sized category leader in its market niche through a combination of both acquisition and account expansion.
Position Overview:The Training Coordinator/Specialist is an integral part of the overall training and development off our internal and field staff. This individual assists the Training Manger to monitor, report, and support the field and internal staff learning from the new hire orientation period to ongoing skill development of the Beckett Associates workforce.Core Job Duties:
Coordinates all training activities for internal and field staff, schedules, tracks attendance, participant performance, and follow up with employees and managers for training courses and programs.
Prepares all training materials (assembly and delivery of training packets) that need to be distributed in various forms to field staff.
Limited facilitation of training classes via remote (conference call) or On the Job (OTJ) in store training for 500+ merchandiser audience.
Support for merchandiser development and on boarding process pertaining to merchandising, utilizing computer systems and voicemail, Beckett Associates policy and procedure, and in-store help.
Updates training materials, job aids, and performance support tools as needed for field staff.
Assists the Training Manager in the development of new training programs for departmental and employee needs.
Main Duties Breakdown:
50% Administrative
30% Writing and Updating Training Materials
10% Facilitation of training sessions and workshops
10% Workforce Support and Follow up
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Office environment ( Full Time exempt Monday - Friday schedule)
Ability to travel up to 10%
REQUIREMENTS
Training Specialist/Coordinator
Minimum Requirements:
College degree (2 or 4) preferred (Majors: English, Speech Communication, Human Resources, and Education).
Excellent communication and public speaking abilities and experience.
Exposure to database and document publishing software and processes.
Ability to effectively communicate, teach, and support complex processes to technical and non technical audiences.
Retail or merchandising background preferred.
Great sense of urgency, personal responsibility, and integrity.
Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment and prioritize to complete tasks on time and with little supervision.
Self starter who is a quick learner of complex processes and computer programs.
Interest in expanding skills related to the Corporate Training and Development Discipline (Adult Learning Styles, Instructional Design Methodology, Computer Based Training development, deployment, and maintenance).
Desired Computer Software Skills:
MS Access: Novice (some usage)
MS Word: Average (uses frequently to publish documents)
MS Excel: Average (uses frequently)
Internet: Average to Advanced (uses frequently)
