Training Service Specialist

A position coordinating staff training, assisting staff professional development, compiling training data, developing career services and plans for staff and providing training logistics and equipment set-up.

Essential Functions of the Position:

1. Assists the agency with training needs such as securing training sites, training equipment set-up and facilitating

2. Responsible for logistics planning for annual management retreats

3. Responsible for processing all staff request for continued education assistance and submitting such requests to the Executive Director for approval

4. Responsible for reviewing, updating, and distributing agency organizational chart as needed

5. Conducts New Hire Orientations in conjunction with the Human Resources Specialist and Benefits Specialist

6. Responsible for entering and maintaining education personnel information in ChildPlus

7. Prepares monthly termination report from Abra on education personnel and provides to Outcomes and Accountabilities Manager

8. Updates education credential information in personnel records as needed to comply with mandates

9. Provide phone coverage for reception area as needed

10. Performs employment reference checks and ensures appropriate credentials are obtained on potential education new hires

11. Prepares and submits quarterly education staff credential reports to Pinellas Opportunity Council

12. Assists in archiving terminated employee files at year end

13. Responsible for compilation and tracking of training data into Child Plus system

14. Coordinates the inventory, distribution, restocking and storage of training equipment and supplies

15. Works with the management team to develop the agency annual calendar and training plan

16. Assist in ensuring the Career Development Plan is implemented for the agency

17. Oversees the Career Development Committee functions and activities

18. Monitors the professional development for teaching staff and any other identified positions in the agency

19. Responsible for networking and developing career partnerships with outside educational institutions, such as St. Petersburg College

20. Assists Human Resources/Training Manager with any service area training materials

21. Other essential agency functions as assigned by management
REQUIREMENTS


1. Knowledge of various software applications such as Word, Excel, Access etc

2. Ability to operate basic training and office equipment such as PA system, fax, projector etc

3. Basic technical operating skills

4. Basic knowledge of professional networking

5. Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure in a fast paced environment

6. Ability to work with others in a team environment

7. Possession of the appropriate valid Florida Driver’s License for using an agency vehicle

8. At employment must obtain a physical examination including a TB Test
