POSITION: Trainer – Western Region, reports to Director of Training
The Ideal Candidate:
Located in Southern California the ideal candidate will be comfortable presenting in front of groups of various sizes and different levels within the organization. He/she will be a decision maker, gregarious, have a sense of urgency, convey a sense of empathy and have a good mechanical aptitude. He/she will have a proven ability to communicate technical information, excellent organization and time management skills with proven experience working without supervision. A comfort level working with plumbing and heating contractors, engineering firms, wholesalers and small business owners would be beneficial for success. Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field is preferred.

REQUIREMENTS
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Summary:
This position is responsible for educating and training installers, contractors, and service agents about safe installation, operation and maintenance of all our products. Training, retention and business development of qualified service personnel for branded products is a principal focus of the position. Regional Trainers will provide the necessary training and outreach for professional contractors within a defined territory. Efforts will be individual and team based.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
•Provide installation and sizing classes, within specified region, meeting documented criteria for frequency and attendance (up to 15 classes per month).
•Visit key trouble installations of Bosch & Buderus products. Provide document information (photo and written) for engineering analysis.
•Split training time as needed between Retail and Wholesale channels.
•Plan and organize all travel arrangements within budget guidelines.
•Complete monthly detailed reports on expenses and experiences to Supervisor within agreed time frame.
•Identify, create and follow-through with regular training opportunities created with key accounts throughout entire territory.
•Provide regular visits to Registered Service Agents (RSAs) and Authorized Service Agents (ASAs) within listed territory
•Monitor part and literature availability with key RSAs/ASAs in territory.
•Identify, promote, and announce 10 trainings per month at least 90 days in advance.
•Improve training tools and seminar materials to enhance and attract audiences of BBT North America training Classes.
•Perform other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
Personal Qualifications:
•Knowledge of Hydronic heating, gas and electric appliances, (tankless) water heaters strongly preferred. Gas/Plumbing/HVAC certifications desirable.
•Excellent organizational and time management skills.
•Excellent communication/reporting skills.
•Demonstrated experience with small group communication strategies.
•Proven experience working without supervision.
Computer Skills:
•Computer Literate to include basic typing, database entry and management, email, Word, Streets & Trips, Excel, Power Point, Internet, etc..
Work Environment:
•Southern California based home office. Regular travel required and working remotely from customer locations, conference facilities, etc.
•Typical schedule is Monday – Friday, with hours varying depending on the work requirements. Routinely requires early mornings and/or late evenings.
•Significant use of computer for daily work.
Education and/or Experience:
•High school diploma required. Bachelors/associates degree in communications or related field preferred.
•Teaching, vocational, travel and/or contracting background desirable.
•Proven ability to communicate and present technical information in a training environment with professionalism, efficiency, and integrity in order to meet defined ob-jectives and develop/improve relationships.
•Ability to teach others about the installation, function, and profitability of all BBT North America products.
Language Requirements:
•Speak, read and write fluent English.
•Spanish a plus
Travel:
•Travel expectations will be approximately 50%. Position covers Western US states of AZ, CA, CO, ID, MT, ND, NM, NV, OK, OR, SD, TX, UT, WA, and WY
SALARY RANGE: Compensation package based on experience
