The selected candidate will be responsible for the planning, development, and management of all compensation programs for a major business unit with significant focus on annual incentive plans. Functions as a technical resource, facilitator, and leader in the process of identifying priorities, developing complementary compensation programs, and facilitating implementation and management. Reports to the Vice President of Compensation (US).ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The Senior Manager, Compensation in Human Resources, functions as an internal consultant to senior business unit management regarding compensation issues. In this role, counsels line management as to effective administration within compensation guidelines, assesses business needs relating to compensation, and plans, design, and implements new compensation programs linked to business needs. Assists in establishing short-and long-range objectives regarding compensation programs. Develops and implements plans and strategies for the business unit compensation programs that outlines actions in support of both short-and long-range business objectives. Oversees compliance with legal requirements associated with compensation programs. Consults in-house attorneys where considerable risk to the company is possible. Manages the compilation of compensation data for submission to local, regional, and national salary surveys, and analyzes results to determine competitive position. Develops required materials for compensation presentations to senior management of the business unit. Presents materials to determine competitive position. Provides summary reports of pertinent information to managers to support compensation decision-making. Develops communications materials associated with employee compensation initiatives. Performs special projects as needed.
Job Requirements
*7 to10+ years-progressive compensation experience, including traditional and non-traditional pay programs. Strong analytical, quantitative, and PC software skills including MS Excel and MS Access. Strong consulting, coaching processes and project management skills. Strong working knowledge of state and federal laws related to human resources functions, strong working knowledge of policies, procedures, and laws relating to compensation. Ability to effectively present information and respond to compensation questions from managers and employees. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels within Aon Consulting. Demonstrated excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communications skills. Proven effective leadership skills in being flexible, creative, team-oriented and process-driven.REQUIRED EDUCATION: Master's Degree preferred. Bachelor's Degree required.
