Senior HR Generalist
Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is a nationwide specialty retailer of high quality products for the home. These products, representing seven distinct merchandise strategies, Williams-Sonoma, Williams-Sonoma Home, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, Pottery Barn Bed + Bath, Pottery Barn Teen, and West Elm are marketed through over 552 stores, eight mail order catalogs and five e-commerce web sites. Distribution facilities are located in Memphis, TN, Olive Branch, MS, Cranbury, NJ, and Ontario, CA.
JOB LOCATION: Memphis, TN/Olive Branch, MS
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Provides human resources support for assigned areas including dispute/conflict resolution, Associate Relations, EEO, benefits, compensation, FMLA administration, training/policy development and implementation, organizational development.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
·Maintains knowledge of the new legal issues in the Federal and State HR arenas
·Stays mindful of acceptable legal practices in the daily work place and diligently enforces policies in a manner consistent with the laws
·Provides guidance and consultation to management in the resolution of staff complaints, performance coaching and counseling
·Provides guidance and coaching to associates on labor relations issues
·Maintains overall awareness of EEO laws and regulations and responds to any issues or complaints of staff
·Administers and communicates FMLA regulations to associates
·Develops programs for implementation to facilitate organizational structure
·Conducts investigations, prepares reports and makes recommendations as required
·Critical employee relations and EEO support and related on-site training
·Participate in cross-functional teams responsible for the development and implementation of HR initiatives
·Uses strong oral and written communication skills to explain complex regulations to all levels of staff
·Assists in coordination of associate activities and is well acquainted with the workforce
·Provides HR support to other facilities as needed
REQUIREMENTS
·Minimum of 2-5 years progressively responsible experience in related HR function areas
·Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
·Hands on experience and strong knowledge of employee relations, compensation and benefits and FMLA regulations
·Experience of working in a distribution environment is preferred
·Excellent written and oral communications skills
·Ability to speak Spanish is a plus
