Risk Management Coordinator

Potbelly is actually Potbelly Sandwich Works, (We just call it Potbelly for short). Potbelly started out in 1977 as a mom-and-pop antique store in a Chicago neighborhood. In an effort to make some extra cash, the owners started selling yummy toasted sandwiches. The sandwiches were the big hit, so the owners just decided to turn their antique store into a sandwich shop. They kept all the antiques, added some items to the menu (hand-dipped shakes, homemade desserts and soups) and had a friend come in to play the acoustic guitar, and voila a Chicago cult-classic is born!

Since 1996, we’ve grown to over 115 wildly successful company-owned locations in Chicago and the suburbs, the DC metro area, Wisconsin, Michigan, Minneapolis, Indiana, Texas (Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston) and in Ohio (Columbus and Cincinnati). And we’re not stopping there!
REQUIREMENTS
What will you do?

Process all Workers’ Compensation & General Liability claims (customer injury, food borne illness, property)

Process Unemployment Insurance Claims; you will also be working with state and UI vendor

Emergency Planning- develop and maintain Potbelly’s emergency and business recovery plan

Background checks, new-hire paperwork, Home Office orientation, delivery driver checks



What do you need?

1-2 years experience with corporate insurance claims processing, especially work comp, GL & UI.

Exposure to HR processes and programs, including confidentiality regs, employees

4-year degree or equivalent

Excellent verbal & written skills essential

Excellent customer service skills; able to relate insurance rules to customer in emotional situations
