Description:
Ensure employee relations issues are handled promptly, accurately and equitably; advise regional operations management on appropriate issue resolution, consulting with management and outside parties as necessary.
Serve as a lead focal point in regional area for staffing issues.
Interact with Regional Management on a regular basis to support local business objectives.
Provide recommendations and assist with the development of policies and procedures.
Coordinate and conduct management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review and harassment, and other areas to ensure compliance with company policies and federal and state laws and regulatory requirements.
Draft disciplinary and termination documentation.
Represent company in hearings involving personnel within regional area of responsibility.
Participate in special human resource projects as business dictates.
Assists managers and supervisory personnel with performance management.
Personally coach, train and mentor direct reports and provide career development opportunities through training and quality management activities.
Conduct annual performance reviews for all staff within department.
Address all employee performance problems promptly and directly in accordance with personnel policies of the Company.
Keep abreast of emerging technology changes and innovations through formal or informal study, reading business and professional publications, networking and participation in professional organizations.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
Minimum seven years progressive HR generalist experience in a managerial role.
Minimum four years supervisory experience.
Minimum three years industry experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated breadth of experience and knowledge of human resources practices and processes (benefits, compensation, payroll, recruiting, training, administration, time and attendance).
Demonstrated leadership skills, both in influencing a complex organization, and in managing a human resources function.
Customer focused and able to establish and sustain effective customer relationships.
In-depth knowledge of company policies and procedures, and all federal and state employment regulations.
Excellent planning, time management, collaboration, decision making, presentation and negotiating skills.
Strong team building skills.
Excellent problem solving, analytical and decision making skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information.
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
Develop and use collaborative relationships to accomplish work goals; develop individual relationships by listening, sharing ideas and appreciating others' efforts.
Maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition; handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and the organization.
Use appropriate methods and a flexible interpersonal style to help build a cohesive team and facilitate the completion of team goals.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees and vendors.
Working knowledge of HRIS systems.
Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
Licenses and Certifications
PHR (Professional Human Resources) Certification preferred; or,
SPHR (Senior Professional Human Resources) Certification preferred.
Travel
Travel is required at least 10% of the time in this position. Travel identified is approximately 100% domestic (within the United States) and 0% international (outside of the United States).
