Responsibilities will include:

Assist RVP in developing the regional business plan.

Develop a regional HR support plan, and manage, within guidelines, the regional HR operating budget.

Implement company processes and programs to the region. Partner with corporate HR to design, develop, measure and evaluate effective programs, processes and policies.

Identify regional issues and trends. In alignment with company direction, implement region-wide organizational and people strategies and tactics in response to changing business conditions and objectives.

Provide advice, recommendations and coaching to local General Managers on HR-related issues. Coach and develop Supervisors and Managers on leadership and HR skills.

Identify and utilize corporate and other resources when necessary.

Lead, train and develop Regional Recruiting Manager.

Partner with corporate to develop and implement an effective employee relations strategy for the region. Partner with Employee Relations on tracking, communicating, and resolving regional issues.

Implement regional recruitment, selection, orientation, training, and development programs.

Develop specialized programs to build employee commitment and improve retention and productivity levels. Share HR best practices information with the company.

Implement corporate compensation and benefit programs including job evaluation efforts, performance appraisal process, and wage, salary and benefit administration. Enhance management development through participation in quarterly/annual appraisal process.

Partner with corporate to manage and supervise regional health, safety and environment programs.

Implement Company HR service activities (i.e. talent pool management system, career development programs, and the conflict resolution process).

Produce a periodic assessment of wage and salary, benefit and other related service trends (i.e. safety issues, rewards, and cultural practices).</li>

Prepare HR reports to include assessments and highlights of all key activities and outputs.Qualifications include:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resource management, psychology or related field.

Five to seven years of progressive human resource management experience preferably with responsibility for multiple locations.

At least three years of experience managing the responsibility of the following functions: Recruiting (up to GM level); Employee Relations (preferably with both union and non-union facilities); Compensation and Benefits recommendations (for both hourly and salaried employees); Training and Development (for employees and managers).

Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to relate with variety of personalities at all organizational levels.

Results oriented. Combines and balances both a business and a people orientation in achieving results. Well developed analytical and reasoning skills.

Believes in a team approach and a participative management environment.
