PEOPLE SERVICES DIRECTOR
PEOPLE SERVICES DIRECTOR SUMMARY:
Provide People Services leadership and support to over 300 team members across all Home Office corporate support functions. Client group is comprised of Finance (including Financial Aid), Information Technology, Marketing, Legal, Audit, Industry Solutions, People Services, and their respective leadership teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive the execution of HR initiatives in the areas of Organizational Effectiveness, Staffing, Total Rewards, Learning, Performance Management, Succession Planning, Employment Practices, and HR Communications.
Ensure that HR processes, as well as business processes, are aligned with and support the business unit’s objectives.
Support the business unit Sr. Vice President (SVP) or Vice President (VP) by providing strategic HR guidance for the business unit; serve as People Services single point of contact for business unit SVP/VP.
Closely integrated with the business unit leadership team; attend business unit leadership staff meetings.
Act as liaison between clients and core People Services staff functions by assisting with rolling out new Company initiatives and communicating information relating to career development, recognition programs, compensation, benefits, training and staffing
Consult with management and employees to identify, evaluate, and resolve employee and work performance problems within established UTI general Human Resources practices.
Build bench strength within the business unit by identifying training and development opportunities for leadership and team members; provide guidance to professional staff related to their career goals.
Participate in the design and implementation of key corporate People Services initiatives including but not limited to: Performance Management, Succession Planning, Employee Retention, Affirmative Action and Safety.
Evaluate business unit HR practices and trends to ensure best-in-class HR solutions are implemented throughout the business unit.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field.
Minimum of five years progressively responsible experience in a site or corporate Human Resources generalist role; strong working knowledge of employment and labor laws required.
Solid expertise in HR functional areas including performance management, staffing, training, compensation and benefits.
Demonstrated ability to drive HR processes and to deliver high quality HR services in a fast paced, high change environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and multi tasking skills.
Strong facilitation, influencing and conflict resolution skills required.
Must possess sound judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office including experience with HRMS.
Ability to be a team player and coach in a collaborative and interdependent organization.
Professional Human Resources Certification or commitment to achieve as soon as practicable.
Must maintain professional image with the highest level of integrity.
