Organizational Development Specialist - Corporate IT Dept., Job
BASIC FUNCTIONConsults with internal clients to define IT organization and employee needs. Formulate solutions appropriate to the environment. Develop assessments, analyze data and make recommendations. Work directly with IT management and employees in gathering data and soliciting input. Work independently or with others to determine needs and recommend solutions. Recommend and lead solutions using practical experience, knowledge of Organizational Development (OD) and collaboration with peers. Promote Development and Learning in the IT environment. Support, develop and lead employee/organizational development initiatives within IT that enhance Organization & People Effectiveness, Communication, Learning and the IT Culture.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES1.Consult with IT management to understand their goals and needs.
2.Develop culturally appropriate solutions to IT organization and employee development needs working independently or in team setting.
3.Develop initiatives that could include organizational change, communication, employee retention, people development, satisfaction, and effectiveness.
4.Gather information on IT environment from employee and management perspectives via 1:1 meetings, focus groups and surveys.
5.Analyze data and develop solutions or alternative methods based on that analysis.
6.Prepare reports, document findings and make recommendations with customer in mind.
7.Plan and facilitate sessions such as strategy development, team effectiveness, teambuilding, process design, etc.
8.Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.RELATIONSHIPSInteracts with managers, employees, peers, teams, vendors and consultants.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED SKILLS:
EXPERIENCE (MINIMUM)
Bachelor degree in Organizational Development, Business or a related discipline (Masters preferred). At least 4 years of experience in helping organizations and people be more effective (experience in IT setting especially helpful). Requires a proven “get it done” aptitude, flexibility and capacity to work on and complete diverse projects simultaneously. Requires the ability to take ownership of a project/task and manage it effectively from concept to completion. Requires strong skills in customer service and proven decision-making. Requires strong verbal and written communications skills including the ability to communicate concepts and solutions to a varied audience.
