N-Tier Architect X2

The N-Tier architect X2 provides services focused on architecting, and implementing Intel-based infrastructures for a variety of multi-tier application solutions. The N-Tier architect X2 may also have product management responsibilities such as setting technical direction and vendor management.

Responsibilities
Critically evaluates financial information for multiple products in the environment. Evaluates and synthesizes predictions for growth and recovery. For example, evaluates new hardware and software to determine its need and cost vs. benefit and/or application in the existing system
May serve as project leader or project member for the development, programming, and/or implementation of major IS infrastructure changes, installations or upgrades. Associate mentors other associates in project management for smaller to medium projects.
Works closely with systems architects and project managers to develop and plan system enhancements and upgrades.
Associate mentors others in designing effective architecture.
Identify, analyze, administer and test operating systems, applications and other related platforms, supported product service packs/patches and related performance enhancements.
Associate effectively gathers and analyzes business needs and requirements. Associate is able to provide/suggest multiple solutions within and the associate's area of expertise to meet needs.
Associate will perform, compile and document research and development for various products and technologies related to the platform supported. The R&D can be performed independently or in contribution to initiatives for other groups in or outside IS.
Provides 24x7 on-call support for 3rd level operations teams.
Associate provides feedback on proposed processes. Associate designs and implements processes that impact multiple groups of associates, seeking appropriate buy-in from stakeholders and audience.
Associate sets guidelines for technical writing. Associate produces solid technical documentation and seeks and incorporates feedback where appropriate. Associate coaches others in writing technical documents.
Associate coaches others to understand and execute the product management methodology. Associate also independently interprets and executes the product management methodology.
Associate is experienced with the firms financial processes and cost justification processes.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
MCSE Certification or on track to do so
DAD: CCEA Certification or on track to do so

Work Experience
5 or more years Server and Application Architecture, Design and Implementation
2 or more years project management experience

Technical/Functional Knowledge
Knows the purpose, impact and configuration management issues of planned hardware changes.
Can identify business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of needed resolution.
Associate demonstrates solid problem-solving techniques across multiple areas of technology and operational models. Resolves issues with wide impacts. Coaches others to build problem-solving skills
Proven experience in developing and maintaining technical reference documents.
Associate provides clear feedback to leaders, mentors and peers. Associate has developed an effective leadership/mentoring style and adapts to changing team needs. Associate actively seeks feedback on leadership/mentoring style. Associate provides strategic vision for processes, products or projects.
Responsiveness and a sense of urgency in regard to problem resolution
Proven writing/communication skills, consulting skills, project skills and organizational skills
Familiar with the design and operation of server clusters and clustering technologies.
Experience with local and remote servers and associated connectivity alternatives
Must be comfortable working with many different groups, inside and outside of IS, to help solve business problems
Advanced technical understanding of the following: Windows Operating System, Network Protocols, Domains, User Admin , Hardware, Database Platforms, Authentication method, Radius, development languages and scripting techniques.

Additional Requirements
Available to participate in 24 x 7 support, off hours and occasional weekend work
Associate must be able to lift 30 pounds.
