Multi Function HR Representative Staff

Standard Job Description: Performs more than one Human Resources function, such as employment, human resources management, benefits, compensation, training/development, for an assigned organization.

Typical Minimums: Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10 years of professional experience; or 8 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.

Specific Job Description: This position will have the full spectrum of Human Resource Business Partner respnsibilities for a major program within the Missile Defense Systems (MDS) line-of-business (LOB), and will support the program VP and his staff. Responsibilities will include but not limited to all compensation related matters including organizing and communicating the annual merit planning program (FOCUS), organizaing and communicating the annual performance evalution process (PRS). Participation will also be required in staffing support such as organizing and facilitating the selection of coded leaders, and working to facilitate transfers and new hire actions. Works to resolve any employee relations issues including providing needed support to the SSC investigation team. Participating as a key contributing member in any required organization development/planning and talent management strategy meetings the program may be engaged with. Responsible for understanding the intent of Full Spectrum Leadership (FSL) and what it means to the corporation, and more specifically, what it means to MDS as to the actions needed to move the LOB into full compliance. To understand what cultural changes are required and to make communicating these changes to all employees a part of the regular interface with them. Coaching managers and other personnel as required, in addition to FSL, in areas of employee relations, compensation, staffing, business travel, TDY, timecard charging, etc. In the process ensure the proper application of command media, FSL imperatives, and state and federal employment laws are applied. The successful candidate will be able to work relatively independent, takes ownership not only for the program they support, but a broader systemic view across the LOB. Must be effective at developing an excellent team relationship with assigned customer base, and with other HRBPs both within MDS, other LOBs, functional organizations, and have or ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Must be an exceptional listener with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and pays attention to details. An interest in occasionally taking on special projects is desirable.
