Manager, US Benefits & Compensation
(Restaurant Level Focus)
Summary Position Profile
Purpose: Serves as a primary resource and subject matter expert for the U.S. Company, as related to traditional and non-traditional benefits for staff, restaurant management and hourly crew (with primary focus at the restaurant level). Works on the design and implementation of both benefit and compensation programs. Leads and partners in developing and executing a comprehensive total compensation education and merchandising plan for the US organization.
Program Development
* Facilitates the creation of a restaurant-specific benefits and compensation strategy within the McOpCo organization ' collaborating accordingly with HR and Operations leadership.
* Identify competitive and administrative opportunities for restaurant-level benefits and compensation programs, as applicable to both hourly and salaried employees.
* Leads and collaborates in the design, development, and implementation of restaurant employee benefit and compensation programs in the US Company (e.g., applicable health insurance benefits, hourly pay programs, time off benefits, work/life resources, etc.).
* While partnering with the Global Benefits group, represents the U.S. interests in the design of corporate health benefits, welfare benefits, retirement savings programs, and executive benefits. Identifies and addresses key opportunities as related to competitiveness, employee needs, and business requirements.
* Partners with department leadership in working with the National People Team on benefit and compensation related strategies.
* Designs and/or participates in the development of applicable insurance benefit plans for the owner/operator population in collaboration with other departments as appropriate (Accounting, Legal, Tax, Service Center, Insurance, I/S).
Program Execution & Management
* Develops the overall total compensation communication and educational strategy for the US company. Partners directly with the Global Benefits and US HR leadership in creating and executing a comprehensive communication/education plan.
* Build on national level total compensation and benefits communications by creating resources for field HR to merchandise programs at a local level.
* Develop practical and impactful decision-making tools for managers and employees, as related to benefit and compensation programs (i.e., compression guidelines).
* Serves as the US lead for driving benefit-specific initiatives across the Home Office and field organization (e.g., increasing McCrew Care participation, improving 401(k) participation, enhancing a wellness focus, fostering a total compensation mindset, etc.).
* As appropriate, manages vendor relationships including, vendor selection, performance assessment, and contract negotiation. Additionally, works with vendors to develop relevant educational and marketing materials for benefit and compensation offerings.
* Create, coordinate, and partner in delivering the benefits and compensation orientation programs for new US officers. Develop ongoing educational content, as applicable to officer-level compensation and benefit programs.
* Create, coordinate and partner in delivering the benefits and compensation orientation programs for the HRDS classes.
* Provide additional project management support on benefit and compensation projects ' as needed.
Consulting
* Provides ongoing counsel to US HR and business unit leaders on a variety of compensation and benefit issues and programs.
* Develops and delivers core benefits training within the US HR organization, as appropriate.
* In conjunction with the appropriate cross-functional team, consults with the Government Relations Department regarding employee benefits legislative activity at the appropriate federal and/or state levels.
* Educate US senior management on critical employee compensation and benefit issues that could impact the US business.
* Cultivates and promotes working relationships with counterparts in other corporations and outside professional organizations to gain and share knowledge (e.g., best practices).
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree is a plus)
5+ years of experience in the areas of Employee Benefits and Compensation
Specific experience in the Retail or Service Industry, particularly unit level experience is a strong plus
CEBS or CBP is preferred but not required
Actively involved in external professional associations
