Manager, Employee Benefits
Managing team of benefits professionals. Candidate will be expected to become thoroughly familiar with complex benefit plans and eligibility rules quickly to provide guidance to staff. The candidate must possess broad, comprehensive experience in Health and Welfare benefits programs and plan administration. Establish and create a standardized procedures manual and best-business practices for the team to ensure consistent responses to employee inquiries. Manage a team that responds to all employee and retiree inquiries, processing of all employee status changes, while ensuring appropriate back-up documentation is received. Identify inefficiencies; provide recommendations for enhanced workflows, and implement, as approved. Identify needs for, and create well
constructed, comprehensive employee communications such as, benefit summaries, benefit statements, annual enrollment, new hire/event-driven communications, plan change announcements. Create benchmark tools to assess and measure staff's conformity to best practices standards. Train staff in work related issues, procedures, and process flows, as well as ensuring staff remains in compliance with HIPAA, and other governmental regulations. Establish and maintain a positive/effective working relationship with staff and both internal and external partners to focus on achieving objectives. Carry out special and/or ad-hoc projects and assignments as requested. Candidate must have proven leadership, interpersonal, organizational, planning, oral and written skills and be able to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's in human resources, or a closely related field, and seven years of benefits experience in a large company or a benefits consulting firm. Candidates should have at least four years of managerial/supervisory experience. A satisfactory combination of experience and education will be considered.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Vendor and contract management experience, preferably with Health Care vendors
Strong PeopleSoft database knowledge
Negotiating Union Contract skills
Masters Degree
CEBS Certification
