Internal Communications Specialist

Job Summary:


Responsible for creating and executing internal communication processes goals and strategies for the purpose of conveying the most positive message to employees. Works closely with Human Resources and other teams to research, write, and edit internal communication documents, emails and other internal collateral. Creates and updates various employee handbooks. Reviews and distributes the organization's strategic plan, which includes the organization's mission, vision, values statement, strategic goals, and strategies.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Work with appropriate departments and managers to assist in the development and execution of strategic internal communications programs that support the mission and vision of the company.Design and creation of the Company’s internal magazine, newsletter, intranet, annual report, etc.Creates and drives content to the company's intranet to increase the effectiveness and impact for employees.Creates and updates the employee handbook.Develops and implements internal communications programs to support policy and benefit launches and other employee communications and marketing campaigns.Assists with writing speeches, presentations, or articles.Conducts research for relevant content and topics.Ensures employees are informed of company initiatives and announcements.Partner with external vendors to develop and deliver project components on time and within budget.Manage the production of promotional items and awards.Works with various members of Human Resources to update, edit forms and other documents.
REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in business, English, marketing or journalismTypically requires 18 months to three years of communications or human resources experience.General knowledge of the company’s marketing objectives and business practices. General knowledge of public relations and communications principles and practices. General time management, communications, decision making, presentation, human relations and organizational skills.Proficient PC skills.Proficiency using various publishing tools including Dreamweaver, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Quark XPress.Ability to use good judgment and common sense when interacting with outside and inside contacts and performing job functions.Ability to work quickly, accurately, and independently with minimal supervision to produce a high-quality work product.Excellent verbal and written skills.Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends (if needed).Ability to develop & maintain working relationships with internal business clients and outside counsel.
