Job Summary:Reporting to the General Manager or designated manager, support the Company's operational mission through Human Resource leadership in accordance with corporate guidelines and ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures. Provide an effective source of communication between management and employees to establish and ensure effective employee relations. Perform all duties assigned by the General Manager or designated manager. Must know, practice and ensure that company policies and procedures and state or federal laws are followed at all times by persons under their jurisdiction.Responsibilities and Duties:1. Provide prompt and courteous service: both on the phone and in person.
A. Demonstrate friendliness and proper phone etiquette with every customer.
B. Maintain a professional appearance and a neat work environment consistent with the Handbook.2. Be alert to customer service in general and encourage courteous attention from all employees. Ensure that all Department employees are thoroughly familiar with procedures for handling aspects of customer service they may be involved in.3. Assist in resolving customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner and advise the General Manager or designated manager of serious complaints or incidences.4. Conduct recruiting and assist management in hiring for all exempt and non-exempt personnel (including part-time employees) using the B.E.S.T. Program. Advertise and post for open positions; use effective recruiting and screening techniques; conduct applicant reference checks and interviews; generate offer and rejection letters; complete and submit new employee paperwork according to policy.5. Conduct new employee orientation and training in policies and procedures. Establish and maintain employee personnel files.6. Monitor training conducted by all Departments and ensure such training is according to company policy and procedures.7. Assist management in planning and implementing staffing, scheduling and monitoring overall changes in headcount. Assist in ensuring that all Departments are properly staffed at all times and in controlling regular and overtime payroll within budgets.8. Implement and monitor the performance appraisal program consistent with Company policy and procedures.9. Implement equal employment opportunity guidelines, including the filing of EEO-1 annual reports and maintenance of other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.10. Perform benefits administration and assume fiduciary responsibility for all aspects of the benefit plan, including claims resolution, change reporting, approve invoices for payment and communication of benefit information to employees.11. Educate employees as to eligibility for and accrual of benefits such as sick time, vacation, short and long term disability and holiday pay.12. Assist in controlling and monitoring overtime, vacations, leaves of absence, sick pay, worker's compensation cases, holiday pay and other payroll related matters as they occur; resolve discrepancies between timecards and paychecks; initiate the paperwork for leaves of absence, status changes and insurance benefits; administer employee benefits and notify the Departments of any unusual problems.13. Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment matters, including wage and hour laws such as overtime and minimum wage regulations, regulations applicable to employee benefits (COBRA, HIPAA and ERISA).14. Handle employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing. Assist auction management in implementing human resources policies and reviewing and evaluating human resource matters to improve policies and procedures.15. Practice and promote teamwork at all times. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance. Follow through and communicate employee relations problems to the General Manager. Evaluate and take positive, consistent, disciplinary action on infractions of company policies and procedures as defined in the employee disciplinary policy. Conduct written warnings, suspensions and terminations of employees with the General Manager. Assist managers in documenting terminations of employees and coordinate attendance of managers at unemployment hearings.16. Ensure proper follow-through on all directives, bulletins, schedules and accounting from the General Manager or
