Human Resources Leader

The HR professional in this position:
Provides leadership in planning and implementing HR projects, programs and product development efforts.
Collaborates specifically with the HR Generalists and administrative staff to produce products/services that are tailored to meet customer needs and manages the delivery to ensure high levels of customer input and satisfaction.
Works in a complex, dynamic and highly ambiguous facility with union and salaried employees.
Works in concert with the overall HR group in becoming a proactive business partner with the plant leadership in identifying and addressing the critical needs of the business.
Ensures that HR processes, procedures, practices and systems align employee behavior and organizational goals.
Assures compliance with all regulatory/governmental reporting and key legal policies/practices within the HR domain to protect the interest of the facility.
Advises and counsels assigned Process/Resource Leaders, Union Leadership and general employees regarding employee relations and performance effectiveness issues.
Performs a wide variety of duties under tight timelines and deadlines in response to changing business needs by:
Defining and constructing appropriate solutions to business problems as they relate to employee relations
issues in the assigned process/resource areas.
Ensuring alignment and articulation of key HR processes, procedures, practices and systems.
Recommending innovative, common sense approaches to the HR business issues.
Participating in continuous improvements of the design, implementation, and measurement of HR programs and processes.
Participating as a strategic business partner to the assigned process/resource areas to ensure on-time delivery of HR systems and processes to support stakeholder strategies.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or social services with an emphasis in Human Resources or related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Eight (8) or more years of proven broad Human Resources generalist experience with at least 4 years at the supervisory / managerial level.
Demonstrated outstanding labor relations experience, including negotiating skills/experience.
Demonstrated outstanding employee relations experience, including demonstrated successful results in maintaining fairness and consistency in an unstructured, ambiguous environment with few policies.
Thorough knowledge of employment law, affirmative action compliance/EEO regulations and guidelines.
Knowledge of current HR policies and practices with application in the day-to-day work environment.
Strong judgment and decision-making ability as well as demonstrated problem solving skills.
Demonstrated skill and effectiveness as a coach/consultant.
Ability to successfully measure and track results.
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to be sensitive to stakeholders’ needs and provide excellent customer service.
Demonstrated competency in technical, professional and managerial recruitment.
Ability to introduce change and foster a positive business culture.
Strong organizational skills for multi-tasking and the ability to work independently in an ambiguous and ever-changing environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
