New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc. (NUMMI) is the pioneering joint venture of General Motors Corporation and Toyota Motor Corporation. Established in Fremont, CA in 1984, NUMMI helped change the automotive industry by introducing the Toyota Production System and teamwork-based working environment to the United States.

About the Opportunity



New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc. is currently seeking to retain 3 full-time employees with a BA or BS degree in Psychology or Business Management (HR Management, Industrial Relations or related majors).




Job Duties

Work in team environment to resolve human resources problems arising on the production floor.

Support and impact Company/Union Relations by problem solving and reaching consensus.

Interview and investigate cases. Be able to council and administer disciplin as needed up to and including discharge.

Support contract compliance with direct floor management, employees and union bargaining members.

Assist with training of employees.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications

BA/BS Degree in Psychology or Business Management (HR Mangement, Industrial Relations or related majors).

2-3 years of general Human Resources.

Union experience required.

Knowledge of Employment Law and employee relations, labor relations or other type of related experience.

Required to rotate shifts on a regular basis.

Excellent facilitation and communication skills.

Ability to use problem solving methods and techniques to successfully and efficiently resolve problems.

Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficient in MS Office suite, especially Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
