Our client, a wonderful financial services firm, is currently seeking to hire a senior human resources professional (formal title Human Resources Generalist, Vice President) for their regional San Francisco office. The Human Resources Generalist provides Human Resource consulting services, employee relations and administration support to the San Francisco Region. Human Resources Generalist is responsible for:
Providing human resources consulting services and support to the senior management as well as line managers in covered locations including planning and decision support for talent selection and development, compensation planning and benefits administration, employee relations issues, performance management and strategic human resource initiatives.
Assisting employees, managers and the legal staff in the successful resolution of employee relations matters including complaints, investigations, performance issues, terminations, business restructuring and other areas involving management of risk to the firm.
Advising technical specialists in compensation, benefits, training, and staffing on development of program and procedure and work with specialist teams to implement and administer programs in the field.
Participating as required in staffing planning, recruiting, new employee onboarding or exit processes, training logistics, employee survey and HR communication initiatives. Leading management development planning and delivery of related programs. Delivering other HR related training as requested.
Identifying strategic issues and participate in project teams addressing critical issues and implementation planning. Developing change management programs as needed.
Working effectively with other members of the Generalist team, providing backup support, professional expertise and other support as appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS
Essential Skills & Characteristics:
Strong knowledge of employee relations issues, legal framework and procedures.
Fundamental understanding of compensation planning, benefits
administration, and adult learning
Developed human resource consulting and communication skills.
Knowledge of performance management planning and evaluation, coaching and performance intervention techniques.
Ability to collect, analyze and present data relevant to human resource metrics including use of HRIS, spreadsheet, word processing and presentation software.
Ability to deliver training content related to human resource policy, procedure and management.Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in business, psychology, human resources or other relevant area required.
Seven to ten years of Generalist, employee relations or other human resource specialization experience required.
Advanced business degree, Human Resource certification (PHR, SPHR, CCP, etc), or other training in human resource technical areas such as compensation or adult learning is highly desirable.
