Human Resource Specialist ( less than 5 yrs exp)
This position will be responsible for both day to day HR initiatives, as well as coordination of HR strategic programs. This position will be exposed to various parts of the business, as well as, all areas of Human Resources. Typical work may involve working on understanding the competitive labor market or partnering with HR colleagues.
Job Responsibilities:
•Serving as a front line contact in providing information/interpretation to R&D’s employees on a wide variety of issues including HR policies and procedures.
•Providing counsel to the management team and employees on employee relations matters, performance management, performance development, compensation plans and employee counseling.
•Serving as a valuable resource in the HR Manager's absence to help in the resolution of problems and determining if escalation to the HR Manager or HR VP is needed.
•Assisting in the communication and implementation of HR initiatives, policies and programs, such as HRP, PDP and VPA.
•Responsible for all HR Administration activities/inquiries for all new hires, current employees and separating employees.
•Involvement in the recruitment process and act as the main liaison with Talent Sourcing.
•Various HR projects (e.g., headcount analyses, PeopleSoft/HRIS, people planning).
•Serve as a member and resource to the broader HR community for Unilever.
•Will report directly to Sr. Manager of Human Resources.
Position Requirements:
Recent college grad with HR internship or at least 1 year HR generalist experience. Generalist experience in a consumer packaged goods environment is desirable but not necessary. Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline preferred or equivalent experience. Strong leadership, presentation, influence and problem solving skills are critical. You must also be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment, possess strong organizational skills and work well as part of a team. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software required Peoplesoft experience a plus. Some light travel required.
REQUIREMENTS
BS degree required. Peoplesoft exp a plus. Strong articulate presentation skills required.
