Human Resource Manager - Generalist
PURPOSE: To develop, manage and provide support for programs in all functional areas of human resources including recruiting, benefits, compensation, safety, compliance counseling and training; and assist the Plant Level Team in management of the business.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develop, administer, and support plant programs in the following areas:
• Benefits administration Compensation / Performance Management
• Polices / legal compliance Salaried & hourly recruiting
• Training and communications Safety
• Human relations HRIS / record keeping
• Union Avoidance/Labor Relations OSHA & EPA compliance
• Worker’s Compensation & other insurance related issues
• Local, state and federal compliance
2. Provide counseling and resource assistance in the areas of policy, benefits, salary administration, career guidance, performance issues, etc. to the plant level team.
3. Monitor all local / state governmental and regulatory activities and information relevant to HR.
4. Hire, train, and supervise the HR staff, as needed.
5. Serve as a business partner on the plant level team, as the plant representative on issues related to HR policies and legalities, and as a mediator for otherwise unresolved individual and team issues.
6. Participate in the establishment of, and take actions to meet, SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost) goals and plant scorecard.
7. Report salaried and hourly head-count and other HR related information to the corporate office.
8. Perform other tasks as directed by the Plant Manager.
9. Role model CITE and Working-in-Teams principles.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages one to four exempt and non-exempt employees (plant nurse or safety coordinator, training coordinator, administrative assistant, receptionist) in the human resource department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
Education, Experience and Skills
• Undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field (extensive work experience may be considered in lieu of education), PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification a plus;
• Minimum of 3 years of human resource management experience; manufacturing experience preferred;
• Experience in developing and administering human resource programs including but not limited to recruiting, benefits, compensation, safety and training;
• Track record of successful project management and team experience;
• Excellent personal computer skills in a networked environment, Microsoft products preferred; and
• Management style and duties must be consistent with and support 2007 Vision and CITE principles.
