SUMMARY: Within the guidelines established by our corporate office, plans, organizes and directs all of the activities of the Human Resources function including International Human Resources activities. Oversees the development, recommendation, and promotion of sound and comprehensive Human Resources policies and programs. Defines, develops and implements strategic human resources initiatives. Provides advice and guidance on the interpretation of personnel policies as they relate to Team Members and company objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
•Working directly with the Executive Committee defines, develops and implements strategic human resources initiatives in conjunction with the company’s strategic business plan.
•Directs the activities of the Human Resources Department. Directs a staff in the recruiting, interviewing, testing, placement, orientation, appraisal, transfer, promotion, demotion or termination of Team Members ensuring a timely, qualified and cost effective recruitment program.
•Directs the design and implementation of human resource development and training programs (both technical and non-technical). Ensures accurate training records are maintained for compliance purposes (FDA).
•Works with the company’s foreign subsidiaries to ensure subsidiary human resource activities meet company goals and objectives as well as conform to country legal and regulatory requirements.
•Develops goals and objectives (short and long term) for the Human Resources Department and initiates specific programs in the various areas of the department. Integrates the various functions of the department.
•Plans, recommends and promotes personnel policies and programs which support the company’s strategic objectives.
•Provides counsel/advice and guidance to staff and supervision on legal and regulated matters to assure the company complies with various regulatory agencies and guidelines (i.e., OSHA, EPA, EEO/AA, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, ERISA, HIPAA and FLSA). Implements sound Human Resources Policies and Procedures.
•Directs employee relations activities. Identifies and analyzes employee relations problems and takes appropriate action to correct such problems.
•Ensures the integrity of the human resources information system (Infinium) database. Ensures security of team member personnel files and other personnel information.
•Works with legal counsel on legal problems, lawsuits and compliance issues.
•Prepares, secures approval for, and implements operating and expenditures budgets for department, and operates within those guidelines.
•Maintains and promotes positive employee relations in the work environment.
•Prepares reports (headcount, HR metrics) for management review and consideration on an as needed or required basis. Ensures the timely and accurate completion of the company’s Affirmative Action Plans and associated reports.
•Ensures compliance with OSHA, Safety and EPA regulations as well as record keeping requirements.
•Works with senior management to develop, implement and administer a company wide variable compensation program. Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine a competitive compensation plan.
•Selects, trains, develops and evaluates the human resources staff in accordance with human resources policies and organization philosophy.
•Exercises common sense and good judgment.
•Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directs a staff of six Human Resources team members. Provides the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the team. Completes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable state and federal laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree (Human Resources Management, Business Management or Psychology) coupled with at least 5 to 10 years related experience or possesses the equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations in the field of Human Resources (FLSA, EEO/AA, Safety, HIPAA, and Employment Law). Previous work experience from within a manufacturing environment; preferably medical device manufacturing is a plus. Prior experience in a managerial capacity with budgeting experience is desired. Excellent written and verbal communication skills is necessary. Must be able to use Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of ADP HR Profile and Infinium HRIS would be an asset.
