HUMAN RESOURCE GENERALIST

Purpose:
JOB SUMMARY:Perform HR Generalist duties as required. Coordinate the employment activities, application/resume screening, interviewing, evaluating and hiring candidates. Work closely with all levels of management to determine appropriate recruiting strategies. Act as a liaison with employment, temporary and advertising agencies. Assist in the development and administration of employee relations programs to enhance morale.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Administers job postings both internally and externally. Responsible for requisition and applicant tracking, employment references, drug screening process. Assist Department Managers with the screening of potential candidates. Prepare offer letters and ensure appropriate approvals are made. Conduct monthly new hire orientation program. Handle exit interview process for terminating employees. Coordinate special programs such as college recruiting initiatives and internship programs. Conduct various HR training programs. Serve as back up to the HR Manager in handling employee relations issues.

EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years experience as an HR Generalist with a preferred emphasis on staffing and employee relations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work across business unit lines and build effective working relationships with all levels. Strong working knowledge of federal and state laws regarding employment practices. Ability to balance multiple priorities, work under pressure within established time constraints, meet deadlines and objectives, and proactively take a customer service approach to activities. Possess a team-oriented approach and the desire to help in other HR areas as required.

EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree or Human Resources Certification preferred.
