HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Provide strategic human resources leadership to the mill operation, including one-year and three-year strategic plans for Human Resource Development.
Develop and implement high performance work systems and teams.
Assess training needs for the Organization, develop, implement & coordinate training solutions to meet determined needs. Perform training where appropriate for in-house training initiatives.
Measure the return on people development and champion the concept of balancing spending on people, process & product.
Support the concepts of and educate employees on the Mission, Vision, and Values of Stora Enso.
Ensure ownership for individual development plans and facilitate opportunities for employees based on IDP discussions.
Lead and implement new organizational work designs, as appropriate, to improve mill operations.
Take a leadership role in the Stora Enso Business Excellence process and assist in the initiatives recommended.
Provide direction and resources for organizational change strategies.
Lead/support initiatives to ensure continuous improvement in the Organization.
Coach employees and managers in performance improvement.
Educate employees on the business environment and organization’s strategies.
Initiate survey used to determine employee satisfaction and operational improvement suggestions; and develop plans to address issues.
Effectively communicate Human Resource Development initiatives through the organization.
Participate in the development and implementation of succession planning.
Establish and maintain effective communication and good working relationships with internal and external customers and associates.
Develop and expand personal understanding of HR/HRD methods & practices, keeping abreast of all developments and promoting changes to upgrade the mill’s HRD operations.
Maintain knowledge of corporate, division, state and federal rules and regulations and company labor agreements.
Assist in developing challenging goals for the mill’s HR Department.
Carry out other responsibilities related to position as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of organizational development principles and practices.
A degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business, or an industry-related degree or experience, plus 4 years experience in human resource development/organizational development.
Strong computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, Microsoft Outlook or similar system, Internet and MS PowerPoint.
Ability to maintain positive relationships with all levels of employees in the Organization
Effective communications skills including the ability to present ideas & training, coach others, and debate/sell concepts to all levels within the organization.
Be positive and willing to cheerlead successes.
Work beyond normal work schedule as necessary to fulfill position responsibilities.
