HR / Safety ManagerMy client, a world leader in building products manufacturing, is seeking an HR / Safety Manger for their new plant in South Carolina. This individual will have the responsibility for the development and administration of policies and procedures to establish and promote safe and healthy working conditions while ensuring compliance with all OSHA regulations and their corporate safety program requirements. This individual will also be responsible for the administration of HR activities ensuring compliance with all applicable company, State of South Carolina and Federal labor regulations.Specific Accountabilities:Regulations-Maintain knowledge of, ensure compliance with and submit all reports required by all Federal State and Company regulations regarding Safety, Health and HR issues.Safety-Develop and maintain/monitor a program that involves all employees and meets all OSHA and company requirements. Conduct daily inspections. Coordinate/conduct safety meetings. New hire orientation. Documentation and filings.HR-Administer and coordinate benefits with Corporate. Ensure personnel practices and applicable laws and regulations are being followed. Assist managers with conflict resolution and employee relations. Maintain employee files to meet federal and state laws. Write directives advising employees of company policy regarding compensation, benefits, harassment and other issues. Manage recruitment, advertising, and employee retention programs.Direct Reports-Supervision of payroll specialist and receptionist positions including training, planning, assigning and directing work. Appraising performance and providing back-up for payroll process.Plant Availability-Assist with the investigation and diagnosis of plant accident and/or safety issues. Recommend courses of action and implement appropriate approved corrective measures. Be available for transport of injured employees to clinic or hospital during plant operations.To be considered for this career opportunity, you must posses a Bachelors degree in occupational safety / health or related field, and at least 5 years safety / health with human resources experience in a manufacturing environment. Must possess comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and working knowledge of applicable HR and ADA regulations. Must be able to make presentations and conduct training sessions for all levels of personnel, and have strong communications skills and willingness to interact with all levels of plant personnel. Strong proficiency in technical writing and computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
