Macalester College seeks a full-time HR/Benefits Coordinator to coordinate the administration of all employee benefits programs with accountability for benefit records management in both electronic and paper-based systems. The Coordinator will administer welfare and retirement benefit programs, including enrollment, ongoing claims processing, benefit calculations and vendor coordination; accurately enter benefits data into HRIS and generate reports; provide assistance to Director of Human Resources in the design of programs; and serve as primary back-up for payroll and other HR functions. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent (college degree and CEBS/CBP certification desired); at least 3 years of directly related experience including both welfare and retirement programs and HRIS/Benefits databases; in depth knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, health care and dependent care reimbursement accounts and FMLA; strong computer proficiency with HRIS applications and other office applications including database management and report writing software. Candidates should be strong communicators with customer service orientation, attention to detail and dedication to continuous improvement.
