Manages the Facility Management Account's Human Resources activities to ensure standardization of policies, procedures and practices. Major areas of responsibility include Staffing, Employee Relations, Salary Administration/Compensation, new employee and benefits orientation, development and monitoring of Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Plans, Diversity, Training, Communications, and organizational development and planning.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Implements Facility Management (FM) Account Human Resources (HR) policies and communicates to the JCI Account employees changes in policies and procedures.
Conducts and coordinates FM site specific training such as Performance Review Management, Pay for Performance, Discipline, Sexual Harassment, Interviewing Skills, Diversity, Management/Supervisory Leadership Training, etc.
Supports projects regarding employee relations matters, investigates complaints, reviews and approves terminations and coordinates with Home Office HR. May be required to interpret terms of collective bargaining agreements as needed.
Assures provisions of HR services are consistent with customer satisfaction objectives, and in a manner which promotes maintenance of direct relationships with employees.
Communicates with appropriate Controls HR staff members regarding exceptions to policy, procedure, and generally accepted practice, and ensures Vertical Market HR Managers are apprised of important HR matters with their respective accounts.
May be required to provides HR support and coordination for account start-up activities and assist with execution of transition plans to ensure proper hand-off at end of transition.
Provides HR support and counsel regarding employee relations' issues. Investigates complaints disciplinary actions, reductions in force and terminations, and coordinates with appropriate Home Office HR department.
Collaborates with FM Account & HR Management personnel to implement Affirmative Action Plans. Monitors personnel transactions to assure compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws and regulations.
Supports the company's Diversity Program and recommends goals and objectives to monitor progress towards achievement.
Oversees the Account's Salary Administration and Pay for Performance Programs. Reviews and approves salary transactions for assigned employee levels according to applicable procedures. Advises management regarding Salary Planning/Compensation, equity issues, promotions, job reclassifications, etc. Coordinates grading of new/revised positions with Controls Compensation.
Ensures necessary training and certifications are provided for FM Account HR members and recommends candidates for company sponsored training programs. May be required to conduct training sessions for employees at assigned Account locations.
Prepares periodic status reports concerning headcount, turnover, position openings, etc., to assure the best utilization of Account and site personnel. Counsels FM Account and Vertical Market HR Management Teams regarding such evaluations.
Implements, monitors and reports key Human Resources metrics to support the FM Account's business plan and customer expectations.
Acquires an understanding of the FM Account's contract with the customer and their ongoing requirements through customer discussions. Partners with FM Account Management Team to ensure positive client relations.
May travel to FM site locations to assist FM Customer Business Manager/Director with HR matters, and to counsel employees regarding career development, performance improvement, disciplinary actions, etc.
May be required to recruit for key positions and provide assistance for training and guidance with the Accounts.
Conducts studies and performs special projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors' degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or equivalent. Requires five to seven years of HR generalist experience. Knowledge of salary administration/Compensation preferred. Familiarity with JCI policies and practices as well as the Account site is desirable. Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
