Working independently, providing feedback and recommendations to Director for approval, this position will serve as project manager, communicator and subject matter expert for various benefit plans.This position encompasses benefit design, financing, implementation, and vendor relationship management as well as analysis and research necessary to ensure the viability and success of various benefit initiatives.Collaborates with national groups, MBO HR, benefits and finance staff, consultants and vendors, to design, implement, finance and communicate benefit plans and changes. Represents benefits team by presenting benefit plan designs, cost, changes and strategies to CHI and MBO representatives.Assist Director and Vise President in the ongoing development of benefits strategy initiatives and implementaionWorks closely with VP and/or Director to recommend plans and changes that ensure that future direction of benefit plans is aligned with CHI business directions and MBO needs.Monitors plan utilization and cost, developing recommendations for current and future cost management. Works closely with national finance group to ensure full collaboration. Works with Director to negotiate system-wide vendor contracts and expand coverage to include all MBOs.Streamlines and enhances employee benefits communication and education.Manages day-to-day relationships with external partners including actuaries, consultants, and benefit plan administrators to ensure compliance with plan documents and ensure service levels meet stated CHI expectations.Develops and delivers employee, MBO and leadership communication and education on CHI benefit plans. Works closely with national communications group to develop employee communications materials and templates for use by MBOs in accordance with strategy.Monitors adherence to compliance requirements, for system-wide plans. Advises benefits staff and MBO HR staff of legal and compliance issues and acts as a subject matter expert.Supports acquisitions and divestures by serving as a benefits subject mater expert, providing needed input and analysis to involved parties on a timely basis.Some Travel Required
REQUIREMENTS
Detailed knowledge of various employee benefit plans, including design, compliance and administration gathered from 5 to 8 years of previous experience as a senior benefits analyst or manager with an employer, consulting or administration firm is required.Experience with a multi-site employer is preferred.Previous project and vendor management experience is also required.Bachelor’s degree required. CEBS preferred.Benefits
