Director of Human Resources - West Region
The Director of Human Resources – West provides strategic guidance and direction on HR related matters to field management and HR network contacts to support business objectives while complying with company policies/procedures and all applicable laws. Works with field management to create, foster, and sustain a positive employee culture that maximizes patient care and profitability. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assists in the development of workforce/manpower plans for the practice and is responsible for ensuring the selection and development of key leadership staff within the region. Serves as an advisor to the SVP Operations concerning all employment actions regarding key management within the region.Supports the development of managers and supervisors within the region through delivery of targeted management training programs.Implements methods and strategies to improve labor relations and build a positive work environment. Anticipates, identifies and resolves employee issues weighing the needs of the employees, the goals of the practice, and company policy and procedure in a variety of areas to include employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and training and development.Exhibits thorough understanding and use of key HR metrics that provide insight into the overall effectiveness of the employment environment in each of the practices.Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law and local governing bodies or other departments in the organization.In coordination with Employee Relations, investigates and resolves employment related complaints/charges.Provides training and guidance to field management to ensure conformity to the company’s human resources policies and procedures, as well as various state and federal laws and regulations.Serves as a consultant to field management to establish and meet regional and network human resources goals and objectives.Recommends changes to the VP, Human Resources on company policies, procedures, and practices, based on changes in business or laws/regulations.Analyzes HR productivity measures and provides recommendations to field management about opportunities for improvements.Provides guidance, coaching and development to the HR contacts in the assigned region.Implements and administers programs, practices and services to promote the physical and mental well-being of individuals in the workplace and to protect individuals and the workplace from unsafe acts, unsafe working conditions and violence.Supports the company’s development efforts by creating and presenting information on human resources products and services to potential affiliating medical practices through CSA’s. Also manages the on-boarding of affiliating practices to ensure a smooth transition of their human resources.
REQUIREMENTS
BS/BA in Human Resources, Business, or related field (Masters degree preferred) and seven years general human resources experience including recruitment/retention, training and development, employment/labor law, employee relations, and compensation/benefits administration.Prior human resources experience in healthcare and/or corporate level, multi-site organization preferred. Professional Human Resources certification (PHR or SPHR) preferred.Work will require approximately 35% travel.
