Job Summary: Job Summary:
Strategic business partner assigned to specific work groups within Constellation Energy. Provides Human Resources leadership and expertise at the professional level in support of the organization’s mission, vision, values and strategic and operational plans. Responsibilities include employee relations, training, employment/recruitment, affirmative action, employment equity programs, process improvement, policy development and evaluation, performance management, compensation program administration, and compliance.Reports To: Manager, Corporate Human Resources and Strategic StaffingPrimary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provides comprehensive Human Resources consulting assistance, direction and facilitation to executive and managerial staff as well as employee population within assigned work groups.2. Partners with assigned client groups to build and implement HR strategy and plans that optimize client business performance.
3. Conducts exit interviews and analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.4. Reviews and analyzes HR policies, practices and systems. Recommends and leads process and policy improvements. Provide consultation and direction on matters of employment law.5. Fosters collaboration between generalist function and corporate benefits, compensation, staffing and HRIS units to provide input on design and administration of programs.6. Assists management and other HR team members in development of diversity and Affirmative Action programs as well as HR programs that enhance employee morale and productivity.7. In conjunction with Training and Organizational Development group, plans, administers, or evaluates programs designed to train and develop employees. Provides guidance, consultation, and staff assistance to management concerning employee training and development matters.8. Partners with assigned work group managers for performance management processes and systems. Assists with evaluating and determining appropriate performance improvement plans for designated employees.9. Evaluates processes and organizational practices to ensure appropriate equal employment opportunity practices are in place within Constellation Energy. Recommends appropriate changes to eliminate or prevent discrimination and to remove barriers to equal opportunity. Analyzes and solves equal opportunity and civil rights problems through fact-finding, problem analysis, negotiation and voluntary compliance programs. Applies equal opportunity principles to solve problems or recommend actions. Takes lead in investigating, answering, and settling grievances/employee relation issues. Acts as arbiter with respect to policy application, wage and salary issues and employee relations disputes. Works with other HR team members to evaluate research and respond to all EEOC and/or NLRB charges.10. Administers, evaluates, and provides review and coaching to develop employer-employee relationships that contribute to satisfactory productivity, motivation, morale, and discipline. Provide guidance, consultation, and assistance to management and employees on employee relations matters. Offers advice on grievances and appeals, adverse actions, employee discipline and related matters.11. Works with recruiters within Human Resources and managers of assigned work groups to determine appropriate staffing projections.12. Assists other HR staff and managers of assigned work groups in determining appropriate pay rates and incentives for employees within their work areas. Reviews wages and makes recommendations for change to avoid discriminatory practices.13. Researches, plans and assists in the implementation of Human Resource Strategies, systems, policies and programs in support of the organization’s culture, values, philosophies and overall organizational strategic plan.14. Job SpecificationsKnowledge:
Thorough knowledge of the full spectrum of human resource management.
Experience in a competitive business environment/industry.
Background in employment law and other government compliance regulations.Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to identify and lead significant change initiatives.
Ability to develop close relationships with client leadership and HR staff in order to develop effective HR solutions.
Demonstrated achievements as a strategic business partner to executive and managerial leadership.
Strong project management skills required.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to present ideas credibly and persuasively to leadership groups.
Ability to influence HR strategy and policy, building upon previous knowledge and experience.
Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree. Graduate degree in HR or business highly preferred.
Ten years of experience managing human resources functions in progressively responsible HR roles, with a track record of success.
HR support in Commercial Energy business preferred
