DIRECTOR OF EMPLOYEE RELATIONSThe Director of Employee Relations is a key position in the Human Resources organization at Owens Corning. This position is responsible for developing and implementing labor relations strategies to create and maintain an environment that delivers desired business results and supports employee engagement, regardless of employee status. The incumbent reports to the Vice President of Employee Relations, Compensation and Benefits, and works directly with Human Resources Leaders, Plant/Business Unit Leadership and Union Leadership.Responsibilities
In collaboration with leadership, provides strategic direction for company-wide Employee/Labor Relations, including the development of appropriate strategies and tactics to drive positive change.
Comprehend and translate business strategies and outcomes into employee and labor relations strategies to deliver on OCs Purpose and to facilitate positive change in employee and organizational themes such as improved safety, increased performance/productivity, and heightened employee engagement.
Act as the Companys chief spokesperson in the negotiation and administration of competitive and cost effective labor agreements across all business units.
Conduct grievance administration at the corporate level, including acting as the Companys advocate in arbitration and NLRB proceedings to uphold the integrity of labor agreements and ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations.
Coach Human Resources and Plant Leaders in labor relations trends, issues and techniques to promote positive labor relations.
Maximize The impact and engagement of all employees, unions and self-represented, by assisting the Employee Relations team to drive business results through HR/ER process/policy excellence, site assessments/audits, sharing of best practices and employee communications strategies.Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Business Administrator or Human Resources. A J.D. or Masters in Labor Relations/HR a plus.
At least 10 years of HR experience with a manufacturing bias, including significant experience in a union environment.
Previous experience as chief spokesperson in collective bargaining.
Strong negotiation and facilitation skills and the ability to provide meaningful recommendations to senior leadership in a variety of areas, including major operating policies.
Strong communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships to achieve positive labor-management relations.Must be eligible to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis.Owens Corning is an equal opportunity employer. REQUIREMENTS
