CSS Project Manger
The Project/Process Consultant X1This role is responsible for managing small to moderately complex projects or a portfolio of assignments. Full cycle scope includes customer and business needs identification through successful implementation, including customer satisfaction confirmation. Uses project management best practices methods to effectively lead project team performances on milestone deliverables while proactively managing risk by monitoring stakeholder commitment, project scope, changes, or threats to successful project completions. Uses the Six Sigma methodology to effectively deliver breakthrough process improvements, yielding significant quality improvements, cost reductions and/or cycle-time reductions. Normally reports to SS Project Management UM. Has significant contact with middle-level managers.Responsibilities
Conduct sound, systematic research among appropriate sources including stakeholderscustomers, clients, vendors, internal and external users; service providerscompetitors, internal and external subject matter experts; published literature; world-class service provider leaders; and the Internet to define customers problems and needs and determine solution options.
Analyze the resulting information to recommend optimized solutions.
Determine, document, and present project proposals with business justifications that are aligned with the firms strategic direction to meet customer and SS business needs Business justifications include financial results derived from cost/benefit analysis. Financial result measures include annualized rate of return, payback months, and annualized savings.
Lead small to medium sized process improvement projects using all aspects of the Six Sigma methodology including all aspects of measure phase analysis, hypothesis testing, ANOVA, correlation and regression, design of experiments, control plans and SPC.
Develop project budgets for management approval. Manages budgets for the duration of projects. Budgets can include any or all project phases including customer needs exploration, solution options/concepts development, project/product design, prototype/pilot/project/product development, testing, training, implementation, and post implementation feedback. Lead cross-functional project teams that design, develop, and implement projects that fit the customers needs that each team causes to be expressed as functionality and quality specifications. Fit with customers needs is determined through project performance on customer satisfaction measures.
With project implementations, establish, meet or exceed measurable performance goals that include efficiency (cost), effectiveness (functionality), and customer satisfaction.
Maintain database with complete, accurate, and current project records and documentation.
Keep PM Unit Manager informed on project performances focusing on milestone deliverables and prevention-based risk management.
Generate monthly project status reports on key performance measures including project expenditures and variances from budgets. Provide explanations for variances above certain levels.
Prepare, schedule, and present project performance reviews each quarter.

Project management skills. Typically has five to seven years of significant experience and an advanced degree or bachelors degree. Additional years of experience and other credentials, which establish a high level of expertise, are also desired.
Process improvement skills. Minimally has completed Six Sigma Green Belt training. Black Belt training preferred.
Experience with software applicationsLotus Notes, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and database applications.
