Overall Compensation: $60,000 - $75,000Roberts & Ryan (www.robertsryan.com) is a 6 year old, retained search firm based in downtown Chicago. We conduct searches at the Director level and above for Fortune 1000 companies and the VP level and above for mid-market organizations. Areas of specialty include, but are not limited to: Advertising/Marketing, Financial Services, Professional Services and Manufacturing.Roberts & Ryan is currently searching for an associate for its Chicago office. The associate will play a pivotal role in the development of candidates for both current and future searches for the company. The role is a salary and bonus-based position, as opposed to being strictly commission-based. The roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Research to have an expanded knowledge base within each search and practice that you will be working within.Attend client meetings as needed in the information gathering process for retained searches.Compile target lists of companies for search assignments.Research companies to identify potential candidates for searches that Roberts & Ryan is conducting.Put together organizational charts of target companies with compiled research in order to best understand the roles of prospective candidates.Recruit senior management professionals for retained searches across all of Roberts & Ryan practice areas.Conduct candidate interviews and report via Roberts & Ryan candidate evaluation process.Write candidate profiles to provide clients critical information on individuals that aid in the selection process.Work as secondary client contact on searches and work to enhance relationships for the firm.Schedule interviews, preps and debriefs for candidates that interview with Roberts & Ryan’s clients.Conduct and write reference checks, employment and education verification and salary verification as needed for clients.Identify and forward job leads for all functional areas to the appropriate partner.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum three years of business experience with ideally two years in either a contingent or retained search firm in a candidate development/recruitment role.Passion for the business and strong interest in doing retained search.Versatile knowledge base, with the ability to work on searches in several different industries.Strong written and verbal skills.Exceptional phone skills.Ability to work on many projects simultaneously.Able to ask hard questions and obtain key information to distinguish top candidates.
