Assistant Manager, Human Resources

For more information on our firm, please visit our web site at www.cambridgeassociates.com. We currently have an Assistant Manager, Human Resources position available in our Arlington, VA office.
Primary Responsibilities:This position is responsible for working closely with the Manager of Human Resources in the development, implementation and administration of human resource programs in the DC office. Responsibilities include assisting with planning, analysis and administration of benefits, personnel record-keeping, employee relations and the establishment and interpretation of personnel policies.
Principal Duties:1. Employee Benefits Administration*-Administer employee medical insurance program for DC office. Responsibilities include enrollment of new employees, assisting employees with claims problems and resolution.-Help design effective communication program for employees concerning their benefits.-Administer the company Cafeteria Benefits Plan for DC office.
-Administer the firm's 401(k) plan in the DC office. Conduct enrollment meetings. Process changes, loans and distributions. Develop recommendations on methods to increase employee participation.
-Coordinate and conduct all new employee benefits orientations with Human Resources Assistant in DC office.-Manage the firm's and group health plan's compliance with the HIPAA Privacy Rule, serving as Privacy Officer for the DC office.2. Staff Management-Manage the daily responsibilities of Human Resources Associate. Provide training in areas of employee benefits administration, recruitment, and personnel administration.
3. Personnel Record-Keeping-Update and maintain all information in the HRIS for the DC office. Run reports as needed.-Maintain a copy of personnel files for DC office.4. Employee Relations-Serve as a resource for managers and employees regarding personnel related problems.
5. Compensation and Performance Appraisals-Advise supervisors on effective techniques for conducting employee appraisals.-Work with supervisors to determine appropriate salary levels and increase amounts.6. Compliance-Help ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.7. Recruiting-On an as needed basis, assist the recruiting team with all aspects of the recruiting function for the DC office. This may include sourcing candidates, screening resumes, interviewing candidates, and negotiating offers.
8. Miscellaneous-Work with the management team on strategic initiatives and special projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:-BA/BS
-5+ years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in a professional services environment, required.-Prior supervisory experience required.-Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills required.-Knowledge of Excel, Word, and an HRIS helpful.
