Application Technology Services Administ
Specific Accountabilities
Â* Prepare specifications for new applications and enhancements/upgrades to existing applications per business requirements.
Â* Write and/or maintain application software according to specifications and standards where applicable
Â* Perform ongoing support for applications including system/batch monitoring and processing, handling user questions and queries, investigating and solving system problems, and providing on-call support services.
Â* Follow standard application development controls, processes, and methodologies where applicable
Â* Create and maintain all required documentation per established processes and methodologies.
Â* Conduct and coordinate all aspects of infrastructure testing including database upgrade testing, application server upgrade testing, infrastructure and development tools testing, Disaster Recovery testing, and stress testing. This includes defining criteria, creating test scripts and scenarios, debugging, and documenting results.
Â* Create technical specifications for work to be sent offshore.
Â* Review work completed offshore
Â* Conduct meetings with development teams to discuss priorities and status.
Â* Defines and executes plans for small projects
Â* Work closely with teams within IS to develop/support system integration/infrastructure.
Â* Train and mentor less experienced associates
Â* Perform other duties, project work, etc. as assigned.
Â* Develop a deep understanding for the PeopleSoft Internet Architecture which includes web servers, application servers, database servers, BEA Tuxedo, and IBM Websphere running on Solaris and Windows operating systems.
Â* Create, maintain, and configure development, user acceptance test, and production PeopleSoft and non-PeopleSoft environments across HR, Financial, Enterprise Performance Management, and potentially other applications in the future.
Â* Working closely with application development teams on application projects and environmental support issues as well as other areas of IS to troubleshoot and correct system problems.
Â* Reporting environmental bugs to vendors as well as obtaining and applying bug fixes from vendors.
Â* Maintain, configure, and upgrade the underlying PeopleSoft systems foundation (PeopleTools) and PeopleSoft application servers across all PeopleSoft environments for all PeopleSoft applications.
Â* Responsibilities may also include developing, enhancing, and supporting an Epicentric (Vignette) Portal application and potentially other applications.
REQUIREMENTS
Â* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
Â* 3 or more years of application development experience
Â* 3 or more years experience with programming languages (e.g. Visual Basic, C++, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Java)
Â* 3 or more years of application development experience with database management systems (e.g. DB2, Access, SQL Server, Oracle)
Â* General knowledge of operating systems (e.g. Windows, UNIX)
Â* Understanding of application architecture and technology infrastructureAdditional Skills
