Summary of Responsibilities & Essential Duties: The Analyst
Origination has minimal applicable professional experience. The responsibility of the Analyst is to provide support to the Origination group, as well as others on the Trading floor, in the areas of: research, presentation development, price modeling, contract analysis, and other special projects. Responsibilities include:
Analyzing and evaluating complex wholesale energy transactions to ensure that all relevant aspects are identified, priced and structured to meet wholesale energy client needs.
Liaison with clients to meet business goals.
Pricing risk management products using complex models.
Assisting in structuring transactions designed to optimize physical or contractual assets.
Assisting in determining the value of generation assets, the potential risks associated with the assets and developing models for asset evaluation.
Interacting with wholesale power users and bulk power marketers/wholesalers.
Qualifications (Experience, Background, Skills, Education):
Basic economic and financial principles.
Basic understanding of energy market and deregulation a plus.
Basic regulatory and legal requirements pertaining to energy market a plus. Skills/Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization.
Analytical skills to develop sound recommendations.
Ability to use computer programs/applications to develop spreadsheets, reports, and presentation materials. Experience:
Minimal applicable professional experience required.
Education/Training: Requires a college degree in Math, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing or other business-related field or quantitative field.
