Grassroots Coordinator

The Grassroots Coordinator is responsible for the development and maintenance of a strong network of activist NFIB members for Colorado, Oklahoma and New Mexico. Incumbent will recruit, train, organize and coordinate the activities of NFIB members to support and grow member activism. Will work with all NFIB departments to implement national programs and initiatives. Responsibilities include but are not limited to working with the State Director to organize and provide support to the Area Action Councils; define, recruit, train, utilize and recognize NFIB activists; provide support for events and meetings held on a state and regional basis; provide support to the Region Media Communications Manager by supplying activist members for media contact, and planning media events; assist in securing corporate sponsorships by raising funds for special events and research projects; implement various NFIB issue campaigns in the region; and work with Member Services staff to develop and promote member value added products and services in the region. Performs other projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
1.Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business, political science or related field; or equivalent work experience.2.Five years relevant work experience as an event planner, fundraiser, grassroots coordinator, marketer or similar position.3.Advanced computer/word processing skills, Microsoft Office required. Willing to travel approximately 75 nights per year.4.Ability to meet deadlines, negotiate conflicts, take initiative, assume project responsibility and prioritize work under pressure. Must have a high level of judgment, flexibility and stress tolerance.5.Professional, energetic, enthusiastic must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal and oral and written communications skills.
