Director of Catering

The Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers, the midwest's premier convention location and a flagship property for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, is currently seeking an experienced food & beverage and sales professional to act as Director of Catering. This position oversees a team of 6, including an Associate Director, and will focus on sales and budgeting and forecasting.



Duties include:



Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication. Prepare, implement and compile data for strategic sales plan, monthly SMARTS report, annual goals, forecasts and other reports as directed/required.



Develop banquet menus pricing and revenue minimums using current competitive data. Recruit, direct, manage, train and counsel catering sales staff. Oversee divisional matters as they relate to federal, state and local employment and civil rights laws. Actively participate in catering sales presentations, property tours and customer meetings. Participate in daily business review meeting, sales meetings and management meetings. Tour, inspect and monitor banquet rooms and presentations.



Champion Hotel culture and maintain high levels of guest service by serving on the hotel's Executive Committee.

5+ years in a similar role required, convention hotel experience preferred.

Bachelor's degree preferred.
