Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital is a 120-bed hospital in Wheaton, Illinois, that is dedicated to the delivery of rehabilitative medicine. Founded in 1972 by the Wheaton Franciscan Sisters, the hospital is part of Marianjoy, Inc., a network of care that manages more than 400 beds within the greater Chicago area. Throughout the network, Marianjoy provides inpatient, comprehensive outpatient and subacute rehabilitation services. Marianjoy is a member of Wheaton Franciscan Services, Inc., located in Wheaton, Illinois. Sponsored by the Wheaton Franciscan Sisters, Wheaton Franciscan Services, Inc. owns and operates more than 100 health and shelter service organizations in Colorado, Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin.The Food Preparation Associate prepares hot food, salads and baked goods for patients, visitors, sisters, staff and special functions.Specific Responsibilities:
The Food Preparation Associate must ensure that food items are prepared according to recipes and with an emphasis on minimizing waste. You will deliver prepared food to the respective serving areas and retrieve the remaining food items after meal service has ended. The Food Prep Associate will also review menu and production sheets to determine items needed for each day.The Food Prep Associate is responsible for maintaining supplies at a proper level, dating, labeling and rotating stored food, and sanitizing the food preparation area and equipment according to health department standards. You must also abide by health department standards for freshness, proper handling, serving and storage temperatures.Marianjoy provides a premium rate for this on-call position.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
A High School diploma or equivalent is required. Sanitation certificate is desirable but not required.Experience:
Prior experience as a Cook or in food service is preferred, but not required.Knowledge:
The ability to understand written and oral instructions is required as well as an ability to provide a high level of customer service and to function as a team member.
