Concierge

Job Summary:
1. Provide excellent customer service; actively model the Midwest Customer Service Standards providing feedback to Team Members and Store Leadership regarding customer interactions.
2. Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
3. Maximize sales potential through outstanding customer service including: greeting customers as they enter the store, circulating throughout the store and engaging customers, answering and researching customer questions, and escorting customers to products.
4. Provide information on how to obtain products not available at Whole Foods Market and that addresses specific customer needs.
5. Maintain reference materials for research.
6. Practice courteous and proper etiquette when answering phones and pages.
7. Give new customers a store tour; assist disabled customers; offer samples to customers.
8. Support regional vision and execute all regional directives and programs.
9. Comply with all applicable state health and safety codes.
10. Maintain clean and sanitary operating environment including facing shelves, maintaining passive samples, and monitoring floor cleanliness.
11. Perform other duties as assigned by Store Leadership, Customer Service Coordinator, and Education Coordinator.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Experience working in a retail environment with high customer interaction levels.
2. Thorough knowledge of Whole Foods Market products, quality standards, food philosophy, and company mission.
3. Awareness of food trends and industry trends.
4. Ability to sell proactively and communicate effectively with customers.
5. Ability to perform physical requirements of position.
6. Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
7. Ability to work independently; strong organizational skills; creative and detail oriented.
8. Ability to operate all necessary equipment.
9. Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as required.

Physical working conditions:
1. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
2. In an 8 hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
3. Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
4. Requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
5. Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
6. Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit.
